Wholesale Dog Chews: Split the PO

Buyers searching wholesale dog chew toys usually want a durable bay they can reorder, not another plush wall. In the Classic Chew line, start with Key Chew Long (SKU MN-1243). It is molded TPR, listed at 21×2.5×2.5 cm, about 33 g, color Mix, catalog MOQ 120, pet type dogs. That is the hero peg for this page: a long, light stick a shopper can read from the aisle. It is not a hardness rating, and it is not a certificate.
Two active neighbors keep the story honest. Puppy Rope Knot (MN-1248) is TPR plus cotton, 9.8×7.8×4.3 cm, about 29 g, also MOQ 120. Nylon Rope Stick (MN-1205) is PA and nylon, about 17×4.5 cm, 200 g, blue, same catalog MOQ. Same "chew" word on the line sheet. Very different grams, and a different claim if you write the material line from the database instead of from a stock photo.
The Classic Chew collection is the parent link. Bones already have their own wholesale write-up. This one is the stick-and-rope decision: which silhouette, which fiber, and which gaps you leave as "confirm on quote."
Five Key Chew shapes, one material line
Key Chew is a shape family, not five materials. Every record below is TPR, dogs, Mix color, catalog MOQ 120. There is no Shore number, no chew-hours claim, and no certification field on these SKUs. If a retailer asks "is it the tough one," you do not have a catalog answer. You have a sample.
| SKU | Size on file | Weight | Color | MOQ |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Key Chew Mini, MN-1244 | 9.1×2.5×1.4 cm | 16 g | Mix | 120 |
| Key Chew Slim, MN-1241 | 12×3.9×2.1 cm | 42 g | Mix | 120 |
| Key Chew Wide, MN-1242 | 12×3.5×4 cm | 63 g | Mix | 120 |
| Key Chew Flat, MN-1245 | 16×4.3×1.8 cm | 35 g | Mix | 120 |
| Key Chew Long, MN-1243 | 21×2.5×2.5 cm | 33 g | Mix | 120 |
Mini is the pocket piece. Sixteen grams and under 10 cm. It is the one I would put in a small-dog or checkout bin, not next to a 200 g rope stick and call them the same program.
Slim and Wide share a 12 cm length and then split. Slim is 42 g and narrow (3.9×2.1 cm). Wide is 63 g and chunkier (3.5×4 cm). Wide is the heaviest Key Chew in this set. If a buyer says "same as slim, just a bit thicker," they are asking for a different gram weight. Quote it as its own line.
Flat is the paddle: 16×4.3×1.8 cm, 35 g. Long is the reach stick: 21 cm, only 33 g, so it looks bigger than it weighs. Do not print one hangtag that says "medium chew" across all five. Name the SKU and the centimeter string on the carton mark, or the warehouse will pick Slim when the photo was Long.
Rubber Chew Stick (MN-1253) is also TPR, dogs, MOQ 120, colors yellow, blue, and pink. The catalog does not list a size or a weight. Leave those cells blank until a pre-production sample is on a scale. Do not borrow Key Chew Long's 21 cm because the word "stick" matches.Who should open with which chew
A pet specialty shop that can face only one molded chew should open on Key Chew Long. The silhouette is obvious, the weight is light enough for a small carton, and Mix color keeps the first order off a custom Pantone conversation. Add Mini only if you have a second peg or a clip strip. Adding all five on day one means five photo sets and, unless the quote says otherwise, five minimums.
Marketplace brands have the same trap. Five sizes is five listings if the dimensions are different enough that one image set would be misleading. Long at 21×2.5×2.5 cm and Mini at 9.1×2.5×1.4 cm are not a colorway. They are different products that share a family name.
Distributors who already carry plush and keep seeing chew complaints usually want something firmer beside the soft wall. A TPR stick does that job on the shelf story. It does not prove bite resistance. There is no lab result in the record. Say "molded TPR stick, 33 g" and stop.
Skip Long as the hero if the brand promise is a tiny puppy kit. Mini at 16 g, or the rope knot at 29 g, is the closer fit. A 21 cm stick in a "teething puppy" photo is how the wrong customer buys it.
Power-chewer language is a different conversation, and the catalog cannot finish it. Tripod Chew Toy (MN-1206) is PA, red, 15×15×7 cm, about 295 g, MOQ 120. That is a heavy nylon piece, not a quieter version of Key Chew. If the buyer needs a destruction claim, put the test on the RFQ. Do not copy a Shore number from a competitor's Amazon bullet.
Rope is not a colorway of the TPR stick
This is the mix-up I see on first POs. Someone writes "chew toys, assorted rope and rubber, 120 total" and expects one carton. The database does not work that way. MOQ 120 is listed per SKU. Blending Mini, Long, and a rope inside one 120 is a quote question, not a default.
Puppy rope in this line is TPR plus cotton, not a cotton-only braid.
| SKU | Materials | Size | Weight | Color | MOQ |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Puppy Rope Knot, MN-1248 | TPR, cotton | 9.8×7.8×4.3 cm | 29 g | Mix | 120 |
| Puppy Rope Bar, MN-1250 | TPR, cotton | 21×2.5×2.5 cm | 33 g | Mix | 120 |
| Puppy Rope Stick, MN-1249 | TPR, cotton | 22×4.1×4.1 cm | 62 g | Pink, yellow | 120 |
Bar is almost the same envelope as Key Chew Long: 21×2.5×2.5 cm and 33 g, versus 21×2.5×2.5 cm and 33 g. The difference on file is the cotton. If you do not write "TPR" versus "TPR + cotton" on the line sheet, receiving will treat them as duplicates and short one of them.
Stick is the heavier cotton piece here, 62 g, with pink and yellow on file. Knot is the short one, 29 g, the shape that reads as a tug even in a small photo. Use Knot when the fixture is tight. Use Stick when you can explain two colors.
Then the nylon ropes, which are not the puppy set:
Nylon Rope Stick is PA and nylon, blue, about 17×4.5 cm, 200 g. Rope Stick Chew (MN-1204) is PA and nylon, 15×4 cm with a 36 cm handle rope, about 145 g, gray and pink. Two hundred grams versus 33 grams is not a "slightly bigger" reorder. It changes the carton weight and the dog you should imply on the hangtag.Do not call the nylon stick cotton because an older product blurb mentioned rope texture. The material fields say PA and nylon. Cotton belongs on the puppy rope rows.
Woven Foam Ball (MN-1218, featured) is a different bay again: TPR and foam, blue, S 7 cm and L 7.5 cm, weights on file about 102 g and 119 g, MOQ 120. Fine as a neighbor in Classic Chew. A bad idea as a silent substitute when the buyer asked for a chew stick.Specs to lock before the PO
Write the PO from the tables, then mark gaps in plain language.
Size codes do not travel across families. Key Chew Long and Puppy Rope Bar can share a centimeter string and still be different BOM lines. Nylon Rope Stick's "17×4.5 cm" is a shorter, much heavier unit. Put the SKU on the carton, not the word "stick."
Weights worth memorizing: Mini 16 g, Long 33 g, Wide 63 g, Puppy Rope Stick 62 g, Rope Stick Chew about 145 g, Nylon Rope Stick 200 g, Tripod about 295 g. A buyer who says "same chew, just the rope version" might mean a 29 g knot or a 200 g nylon stick. Ask which row.
Color on file is Mix for the Key Chew set and for Knot and Bar. That is a catalog color name, not a promise of a specific five-color assortment ratio. Puppy Rope Stick is pink and yellow. Nylon Rope Stick is blue. A brand color is a development question. Stock color on the first order keeps you on the catalog MOQ of 120. A custom color usually means a new minimum and a new sample. Ask before you promise the retailer a house green.
Fields these records do not have: unit price, inner-pack count, carton cube, barcode, warning copy, and any certification. CPSIA, EN71, or REACH language belongs on a test plan you order, not as a badge copied onto a wholesale page. Shore hardness is the same kind of gap. If the buyer needs it, weigh and test the sample. Do not invent a number because the toy feels "medium" in the hand.
Straw Branch Chew (MN-1220) is easy to misfile here. Materials are straw fiber, not TPR, sizes S 13.8×4.9×3.1 cm and L 18×5.2×3.7 cm, weights about 87 g and 149 g, white, MOQ 120. It can sit in a natural-look chew story. It should not inherit Key Chew's material sentence. How this sits in Classic Chew
Classic Chew is the durable series: molded chews, rope, and bones. A short first bay, if the fixture is one shelf:
- Key Chew Long as the TPR hero, Mini only if you have a second facing.
- Puppy Rope Knot as the cotton-touch piece, not as a color of Long.
- Nylon Rope Stick only if the account can explain a 200 g unit and you are not selling it as a puppy toy.
A fourth stick shape usually creates scan errors. Wide versus Slim is a real spec difference, and it is also invisible to a rushed receiver. If you need a firmer nylon chew that is not rope, use Tripod or send people to the bone assortment. Coated Bone Chew (MN-1202, featured) is PA with a PU coating, not TPR. Keep it on the bone page so "nylon bone" and "rubber stick" do not collapse into one bullet.
Soak-water toys share a chew aisle in summer and almost nothing in the BOM. Leave them off this planogram so freeze-it instructions do not land on a Key Chew.
The broader catalog is on pet toy products. Studio Warmth plush and Smart Play mats are different programs. A chew stick does not belong in a snuffle-mat bundle just to raise the average unit.
MOQ math, again, because it is where trial orders stall: 120 is the catalog number on each of these SKUs, not a blended 120 across five shapes. Three Key Chews can mean three minimums. Confirm a mix on the quote if you want Mini and Long in one trial. Assuming the factory will blend them is how the PO sits in email for two weeks.
Sampling, private label, and what not to change
For a first sample set I would ship three pieces, not eight. Key Chew Long, Puppy Rope Knot, and Nylon Rope Stick. They cover TPR, TPR plus cotton, and PA plus nylon, and the weights (33 g, 29 g, 200 g) stop a buyer from treating "chew" as one price.
Check the sample against the table: length, the cotton actually present on the puppy rope, color versus Mix or the named swatch, and grams against the file. The nylon stick's size string is short ("17×4.5 cm"). Measure the sample and write the third dimension into the spec if you need it for a listing. Do not backfill it from memory.
Private label on an open mold is usually a hangtag, a header card, or a color you already have, not a new silhouette. Key Chew's five shapes already exist. Asking for a sixth length on a 120-unit trial is a tooling conversation. That path is private label pet toys if the brand needs its name on the card, and ODM pet toy manufacturing if the shape itself has to change.
What I would not change on the first PO: the material sentence, the SKU size string, or the dog-only pet type. Do not add a cat callout because a small stick photographs well. Do not relabel Mix as "assorted neon" without a ratio from the quote. Do not print "indestructible," "vet approved," or a lab logo that is not on the record.
Packing stays boring on purpose. Polybag or header card, carton mark with SKU and centimeters, and a weight check on the first shipment against 16 g, 33 g, 63 g, or 200 g depending on the row. Inner-pack count is not in the database. Leave it blank until the packing list says a number.
If you want a quote on Key Chew Long plus one rope, send the SKUs and the size strings rather than the phrase "wholesale dog chew toys." Contact Wagnab with the destination market and whether you need stock Mix or a color match. We will tell you which cells are still confirm-on-quote before anyone promises a retailer a hardness score.
